Presidential Visit

I know that I have not done a very good job when it comes to posting on my blog but I want to make an effort to post regularly I my goal is to post something once a week. I want to start off slow because if I set the bar to high I will never meet it I will make my first regular post with President Bush.

President Bush came to Salt Lake and during his time here he was going to give a presidential service award to a former U student. So I went down to take the picture of it. I got there and went through all the security checks that were intense enough they made me start to question whether or not I had anything illegal maybe I accidently had something on me I should not have had on me. I was taken to a flat bed where I could take pictures from. After a long wait the Air Force One finally touched down.
Bush came out, waved.
Gave Rick Pehrson the service award

Turned and got into his Limo and left.
I figured that is how it would go but it was a pain in the ass to wait for over an hour to see him for 2 min (if that). Well it was still a cool experience that I’m glad I had the chance to do.

I also have the thank Rick Egan for his help at this event. Your help was the best Thanks again!

Focus Documentary

One of the projects that kept me really busy this semester was my documentary project for my documentary photography class. For the project I fallowed the craniates from the Focus party running for student body office. It was a lot of work I took just under 1,500 pictures for the project and then spent another week laying out the project. The following is the final lay out, let me know what you think.

In addition to my lay out I let Pace Johnson use my photos for a video he was making in one of his film classes. He could not use synced sound in this video so he took his audio and used my pictures for some of the visual. Check it out I think this is awesome.

Spring sports

Ok I was horrible about doing posts the last semester but it was a hard semester with the fresh start of summer I want to take a quick look back at what was my spring in sports photos. The following are the photos my spring had to offer.

Gymnastics

Women’s basketball

Men’s basketball
During the trip to Provo I was on the sideline and was nearly kicked every time the cheerleaders had came out so I started to take pictures of the flips and got this kinda cool one.
I shot golf for the first time this spring

Spring wrapped up with the Red and White football game
This was from the MUSS flag football game but it was my favorite photo of the day.

Spring News

Ok I was horrible about doing posts the last semester but it was a hard semester with the fresh start of summer I want to take a quick look back at what was my spring in news photos. The following are the photos my spring had to offer.

A herd of deer came down to campus.

Lance Armstrong and John Huntsman visited nurses and patients at the Huntsman Cancer Institute.

Larry Anderson, nighttime custodian in the OSH building.

Matt Steele, Skating on the fountain.

Empty racks in the Marriott Library.
I worked on this photo illustration for a story about car burglaries at the U. people were smashing the windows and taking radios out of cars by the residents halls I think so I did this but the story keep getting pushed back more and more until the semester was over so it never ran. I still like it so I will post it hear.
(The tattoo is real. I photoshoped out the tattoo for the paper but I like it so I left it in for my blog.)
